The RIMAU-Menraq project took place in the Royal Belum State Park, Perak from the 19th to the 21st of August 2020. To protect the natural environment of the highly endangered Malayan Tiger, the VFE collaborated with an NGO called RIMAU, which arranged for a 2-night visit to an Orang Asli village deep in the jungle. The purpose of the visit was to witness the “graduation” of 14 anti-tiger poaching rangers from among the Jahai Orang Asli community there.
To celebrate this auspicious occasion, many activities were organized with the Jahai children by the RIMAU volunteers. The VERITAS team, led by President David Hashim, also donated food packages to the Jahai leaders.
